PURPOSE: A deflection compensation apparatus and method for electric-field display is provided to decrease deflection non-uniformity by error in manufacturing process. CONSTITUTION: The apparatus comprises display panel arranged point of intersection m-row lines and n-column lines, deflection detecting means for detecting deflection level in pixel, deflection control means for computing compensation value by comparing the detected deflection level and reference value and column driving means for driving the column lines by adding the compensation value by input image. Thereby it is possible to decrease deflection non-uniformity by error in manufacturing process.
