PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce bulk density of a sintering material layer where a sintering material is loaded onto a moving pallet through a drum shoot incorporating a magnet. SOLUTION: When a sintering material 2 being fed from an ore supply hopper 1 using a drum feeder 3 is loaded onto a pallet through a drum shoot 6 incorporating a magnet, the drum feeder 3 is rotated at a circumferential speed of 9-36 cm/sec. Consequently, bulk density of a sintering material layer 7 to be formed on a moving pallet 5 is reduced and good ventilation can be sustained. Since the sintering material colliding against the drum shoot 6 is subjected to magnetic force, a magnetizing sintering material 7A having good sintering properties can be segregated at the upper layer part of the sintering material layer 7 to be formed on a moving pallet 5 and thereby sintering properties at the upper layer part of the sintering material layer 7 are enhanced.
