摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a microorganism-immobilizing carrier useful as a water treatment, capable of reducing a time for reaching a maximum treating rate in a water treatment and also improving the maximum treating rate and a removing rate by treating a polyester fiber with a raising treatment and a cation treatment. SOLUTION: This microorganism immobilizing carrier is obtained by using a polyester processed yarn of 75 denier as a core yarn, circular-knitting it with polyester processed yarns of 35 denier as a surface and a reverse yarn, raising for 1 times with a needle cloth raising machine to make 2.5 mm raised length in both surface and reverse sides, cutting into 10 mm square to obtain raised polyester pieces, then immersing the polyester pieces into a solution prepared by dissolving chitosan into a water containing glacial acetic acid for 30 min. then drying for 3 hr at a room temperature. Further, in the case of adding the carrier in a treating liquid, since microorganisms are immobilized in a high concentration and at a high attaching rate, it is possible to reduce a time to reach a maximum treating rate from starting the operation, and the maximum treating rate and a removing rate can be improved.
