PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery jointing device and a battery jointing method that dispense with a connection member interposed between batteries for reducing the electric resistance value of the jointed part, can minimize the total length of the battery line and can join batteries to each other in a condition which is superior in mechanical strength, such as tensile and torsion strength. SOLUTION: A battery fixing member 2 detachably retains a first battery 41 , for which multiple protrusive projections are formed on the surface of its positive electrode projecting from the periphery of its battery case. A battery moving member 5 moves in the axial direction, in parallel with the first battery retained by the battery fixing member and detachably retains a second battery 42 to abut its negative electrode on the positive electrode of the first battery. While a pressing member 7 pressingly energizes the battery moving member toward the battery fixing member, a resistance welding means 8 feeds a welding current between the positive electrode of the first battery and the negative electrode of the second battery. |
