The invention concerns a method of printing markings onto rubber articles, in particular tyres, the marking being applied by means of colour. According to the invention, the method is characterized in that the marking is printed on, the rubber article comprises a particular mixture composition in the marking region, no wax or protective additives being present, and the print colour comprises a binder which is adapted to the rubber mixture of the marking region. According to the invention, the print colour is a solvent-containing two-component colour. The marking is printed onto the rubber article by means of a tampon-printing process.
