PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a channel system switching device capable of quickly completing system switching when a fault occurs in a certain system and preventing the generation of cell destruction. SOLUTION: The channel system switching device for an ATM exchange constituted of multiplexed systems and capable of switching a working system generating a fault into another system is provided with a system distribution device for distributing cells to respective systems, a class distribution device 6 for distributing cells inputted from the system distribution device in each service class, plural buffers 7a, 7b, etc., for temporarily storing cells inputted from the device 6, a cell interval value storing means 12 for storing a transmission interval value 14a determined in each buffer, and a cell transmission interval control means 10 for controlling a cell transmission interval based on the interval value 14a so as to reduce the cell transmission interval value 14 of a butter belonging to a system generating a device fault at the time of switching the system.
