<p>This invention relates to a method of improving the relative expression level of any eukaryotic, prokaryotic, viral or any gene of interest in eukaryotic or prokaryotic cell lines and related methods and products. The invention described herein alters the ligand-binding characteristics of a nucleic acid sequence of any given length without the use of small molecule pharmaceuticals and teaches that the binding affinity of a ligand, such as RNA polymerase and/or transcription factors, for its ligand binding site may be modulated solely by the nucleotide composition of the polynucleotide sequence(s) flanking an adjacent ligand binding site.</p> |
