PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a long fiber glass-reinforced thermoplastic resin composite base material for obtaining a sufficient reinforcing effect with good dispersibility of glass fibers at the time of injection molding, long residual fiber length irrespective of a high glass content. SOLUTION: The composite base material is obtained by impregnating one glass fiber strand obtained by bundling a plurality of glass monofilaments without splitting with a thermoplastic resin by a melt impregnating method, then drawing the one strand from one nozzle, forming a unit wire material having a mean diameter of 1.0 mm or less, a glass content of 60 to 80 vol.%, an impregnating ratio of the resin of 95% or more, and at the time of representing a buckling limit at the time of bending by a curvature R<=30D×V (D = a mean diameter, V = glass content: vol.%/100, and units of R and D by mm, aligning a plurality of the wire materials, thermally fusion bonding them so that a final mean diameter becomes 1 to 5 mm, and cutting it in a length of 3 to 100 mm. |
