1357244 Substituted diphenylamines and N- acyl-diphenylamines YAMAMOTO KAGAKU GOSEIKK 18 Jan 1972 [21 Jan 1971] 2415/72 Heading C2C [Also in Divisions C4 and D2 2 - Anilino - 5 - methoxy - toluene is prepared by condensing 2 - acetylamino - 5 - methoxytoluene with bromobenzene, using an alkali metal carbonate in the presence of copper powder and iodine, to give 2-(N-acetyl-anilino)- 5-methoxy-toluene and then hydrolysing this. Similarly are prepared 2 - (N - acetyl - 4<SP>1</SP>- methyl - anilino) - 5 - methoxy - toluene and 2 - (4<SP>1 </SP>- methyl - anilino) - 5 - methoxy - toluene; 2 - (N - acetyl - 2<SP>1</SP>,4<SP>1</SP> - dimethyl - aniline) - 5- methoxy - toluene and 2 - (2<SP>1</SP>,4<SP>1</SP> - dimethylanilino) - 5 - methoxy - toluene; 2 - (N - acetylanilino) - 5 - methoxy - ethylbenzene and 2- anilino - 5 - methoxy - ethylbenzene; and 2- methoxy - 5 - (N - acetylanilino) - toluene and 2-methoxy-5-aniline-toluene. |
