PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording medium for ink jet, which is distinct in color tone, prominent in the absorbing power of ink and reduced in the ooze-out of ink even when water drops are dispersed. SOLUTION: A basic aluminum chloride is contained in the substrate or the ink receptor layer of a recording medium for ink jet, in which a porous ink receptor layer is formed on the substrate. In this case, the volume of pore, having a radius smaller than three times of the average radius of pores included in the ink receptor layer of the substrate, per unit area of the substrate is specified to be 2-1000 cm<3> /cm<2> . |
