PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a coding image recording and reproducing device used for an authoring system where a video bit stream is retrieved at a high speed, reproduced information is served and a job time for authoring is reduced. SOLUTION: A header detector 14 detects a stream header SH from a received video bit stream. A coded data counter 12 outputs number of bytes, from the head, of an output video bit stream from a coder 11 when the counter 12 receives a detection signal from the header detector 14 and a reproduction time code from a VTR 10 as coding incidental information to a file server 16, where the information is stored. A video bit stream from a buffer 15 is fed to the file server 16, where it is stored separately from the coding incidental information. After the end of storage by the file server 16, the user 18 enters the time code by a manual TC entry device 13, and the file server 16 can be retrieved at a high speed by using the time code as an address. |
