The method of finishing a yarn comprises subjecting it to a compressed air stream in a texturing (101) or interlacing (110) nozzle, and heating the yarn e.g. in a steam chamber (DK1, or DK2) before and or after passing through the nozzle. The texturing nozzle may have a supersonic air flow, and may be made in two parts held together by pins and clamps. The texturing nozzle has a continuous yarn duct at one end with compressed air at at least 8, and preferably 12 - 14 bar, in its central portion. The air jet is at a speed in excess of Mach 2 in the widening acceleration duct, and the yarn is heated to above 90, and preferably 150 - 200 degrees C. An Independent claim is included for a yarn finishing arrangement, and also for an apparatus for treating a multi-filament yarn. The apparatus has a yarn texturing nozzle with an ultrasonic duct whose length is more than one and a half times the entrance diameter, and an opening angle of between 10 and 40 degrees.
