PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solar cell arrangement and a cell structure for protecting a solar array installed in a space craft locating on geostationary orbit against electrostatic discharge. SOLUTION: An insulation material, e.g. RTV adhesive, is used as a barrier 20 disposed in the inner cell gap between solar cells 12. When the insulation material is used, it corrects the spark due to the electrostatic discharge in the gap and it has other nondestructive characteristics during the sparking. Owing to the used insulation material, e.g. a kapton insulation layer for supporting the solar cells 12 or other solar cell material such as substrate 18 is not damaged. A solar cell wiring project for limiting the voltage between adjacent solar cells to 50 V or lower is proposed. |
