SHEATH-CORE TYPE CONJUGATE FIBER AND BLENDED YARN

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheath-core type conjugate having high hygroscopicity and high water absorbability and useful for woven fabrics or knitted fabrics having good wearing amenity. SOLUTION: This sheath-core type conjugate fiber comprises a core component and a sheath component in a core component/sheath component weight ratio of 5/95 to 50/50. A thermoplastic resin forming the core component comprises a copolyester copolymerized with a polyoxyalkylene glycol, containing 0.1-20 mol.% of a cross-linking agent of the general formula: (R2 O)mR1 (COOR3 )n [R1 is a trivalent to hexavalent organic residue; R2 is hydrogen or acetyl group; R3 is hydrogen or an alkyl group; 3<=(m)+(n)<=6], and exhibiting a moisture- absorbing or releasing parameter (ΔMR) of >=10.0%. A thermoplastic resin forming the sheath component is a fiber-forming polyamide.
