PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a voltage nonlinear resistor, in which ZnO whose surge resistance is large, is contained as main component. SOLUTION: In this voltage nonlinear resistor, ZnO is contained as the main component, and at least one kind of rare-earth elements of 0.08-5.0 atom% in total amount, cobalt of 0.1-10.0 atom%, calcium of 0.01-1.0 atom%, at least one kind of potassium, cesium, and rubidium of 0.01-1.0 atom% in total amount, chromium of 0.01-1.0 atom%, at least one kind of aluminum, gallium, and indium of 1×10<-4> -5×10<-2> atom%, bismuth of 0.7-1.1 atom%, and antimony in the range of an antimony/bismuth ratio of 0.8-1.2 are added. Then, this is subjected to sintering. |
