PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the feeling of the belt of an air belt device. SOLUTION: The portion of a shoulder belt 6 in the air belt device for contact with the chest of an occupant is made of a tube-shaped inflatable rubber bag 12 and a webbing 13 that covers the bag 12 to produce tensile force at a vehicle collision. The bag 12 is folded up, is stitched up with sewing threads 28 and is stuck on the inner surface of the webbing 13 with an adhesive 29, so that a break of the sewing threads 28 as well as a removal of the adhesive 29 at an inflation of the bag 12 promote this bag inflation. The feeling of the webbing 13 is thus prevented from deteriorating even upon any irregular fold of the bag 12 and any displacement of the bag 12 inside the webbing 13. |
