PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device and an image forming method capable of obtaining a good-quality image having no density irregularity. SOLUTION: This image forming device outputs a test image sample as shown by fig. 1) and calculates the distribution of an axial density as shown by fig. 2). If the target density is set to 0.5 in fig. 2), the increment/decrement to the read density distribution of 0.5 of a half-tone portion is calculated to correspond to picture elements in the main scanning direction. If minus correction is shown by a negative symbol and plus correction is shown by a positive symbol, the necessary correction density becomes a diagram as shown by fig. 3) inverted with fig. 2) in polarity. The correction light quantities (correction levels) for individual picture elements of a dot exposure laser are obtained from this diagram of the necessary correction density. |
