PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for operating a device provided with a CPU with an RISC architecture. SOLUTION: A computer provided with the RISC architecture is provided with the CPU 1 connected to a RAM 3 and a flash ROM 4. The set of compressed operation instructions 6 including sub sets for defining a compression method is stored in the ROM 4 together with the set of non-compressed instructions 7 for defining compression algorithm. At the time of booting the computer, the non-compressed instruction is read from the ROM 4 by the CPU 1, the CPU 1 also reads the compressed instruction, decompresses it corresponding to a decompression process and writes the decompressed instruction to the RAM 3. The CPU 1 forms the changed set of the non-compressed instructions, compresses it corresponding to the compression method decompressed then and writes it to the ROM 4 and thus, the compressed instruction is dynamically changed. |
