摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an orthogonal signal decoder with high quantization accuracy regardless of a small circuit scale. SOLUTION: An exclusive OR circuit 3 operates exclusive OR between bits [7], [6] of a Q signal fed to a terminal 1, and an exclusive OR circuit 4 operates exclusive OR between bits [7], [6] of an I signal fed to a terminal 2, and then an OR circuit 5 ORs the result of both the exclusive ORs and the result is use as selection control signals for selectors 6, 7. The selector 6 selects a bit [6:0] or a bit [7:1] of the Q signal and the selector 7 selects a bit [6:0] or a bit [7:1] of the I signal, and a ROM 8 quantizes a phase error ΔΘin 8-bit with respect to output signals of the selector 6 and the selector 7. Thus bit number of the input signal at data decoding is considerably reduced by applying conversion processing to the two orthogonal signals in this way.
