PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject composition capable of manifesting low hysteresis characteristics or the like and useful for a tire or the like by mixing a functionalized diene elastomer obtained by using an anionic polymerization initiator and a terminator, with a silica and a vulcanizing agent. SOLUTION: This composition is obtained by compounding (A) a functionalized diene elastomer obtained by mixing a lithium amine initiator compound selected from a group of compounds of the formula R'-N-Li and the formula R'-N-R"-Li (R' is a cyclic amine having 3-18 number of atoms in a ring carbon, or the like; R" is a bivalent 2-20C hydrocarbyl; Li atom does not bond to the carbon directly bonding to the nitrogen of amine), a diene monomer, arbitrary a monovinyl aromatic monomer or a triene, optionally in the presence of a modifying agent, and terminating the polymerization by a terminator, with (B) an amorphous silica filter and (C) a vulcanizing agent, and subjecting the compounded materials to cross-linking. As the result, the composition manifesting a good valance in a wet tensile strength, resistance to rolling, the tensile strength at a snow and ice time, etc., is obtained.
