A card holder (1) allows the bearer of an IC card (2) to check the information recorded in the IC card (2) at any time and with ease even if the IC card (2) has a surface that is not fit to be provided with a display portion that allows repeated writing and erasing of information. The card holder (1) has a card holding means (20, 35-38), a reading means (21) for reading information from the IC card (2) held by the card holding means (20, 35-38), and a display means (30).
