The spring clamp consists of two coaxially facing gripper elements in the form of spring plates or holder claws movable over each other by a tension element for tightening the helical springs. The protective support (1) is replaceably fixed to the gripper element (2). Part of the protective support at least covers the coating surface of the gripper element. The protective support is made of rubbery, elastically dimensionally stable material. It is fixed to the gripper element by at least one detachable screw connection (15,16,17,23) consisting of a threaded pin fitting through a hole (20,21,22) in the gripper element and screwed at the back by a threaded nut (23).
