PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hand-held labeler which is easy to load, clean and maintain. SOLUTION: The labeler has a gear-driven print head. The print head is placed in an upper housing and is driven from a lower housing. The upper housing can be moved to an opening position without maintaining drive coupling with the print head, that is without advancing a label support web through the labeler. A spring 150 which restores the print head to an initial position even when the upper housing is at the opening position is provided, wherein even if the upper housing moves to a closed position with respect to the lower position, alignment (engagement) between respective components (gears and racks) can be kept as it is. |
