<p>An illumination device has a transducer for polarized light with a reflection plate with several slot sections arranged to be associated with lenses of a second condenser lens matrix. Quarter wave plates cover the reflection sections between adjacent slot sections. A plate-shaped separator for polarized light and an emission lens are arranged in series on the light input side. The separator has a beam divider matrix with triangular prisms and separating layers for polarized light.</p>
