PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To collect an inorganic fiber scattering from a filter body consisting of an inorganic fiber material capturing a mass of exhaust particulates with a pair of filters serving also as a charged electrode set up downstream an exhaust gas passage of this filter body. SOLUTION: A first filter 2 consists of an inorganic fiber material capturing a diesel particulate P. An inorganic fiber F1 with the length of more than the fixed one among those of inorganic fibers F scattering from the first filter 2 is collected by a second filter 8 installed in an exhaust gas passage 4 downstream the first filter 2. This second filter 8 consists of a wire net of a negative electrode, charging an inorganic fiber F2 of less than the specified length, passing through the second filter 8. A third filter 9 installed at the downstream side of the second filter 8 is a metal honeycomb or a positive electrode, collecting the inorganic fiber F2 in an electrical manner.
|
