PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a character recognizing device which can be operated easily without forcing character rewriting labor to a user. SOLUTION: A character recognizing section 4 recognizes characters inputted to an input section 1 by writing one character by one character together with marks indicating the certainty of recognition. Then the section 4 generates a character string by combining the recognized characters in the order of summed marks. A maze-gaki converting section 5 unwinds the generated character string into KANA (Japanese syllabary). The KANA string is again converted into KANJI (Chinese character) strings by means of a KANA-KANJI conversion processing section 6, and then, the coincidence between the generated KANJI strings and the above-mentioned generated character string is discriminated and, coincident KANJI strings are decided as character recognizing candidates. The candidates are displayed on a displaying section in the order of summed marks and a user selects a proper KANJI string. |
