PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate a degradation font of high quality by correcting unevenness of degradation caused when the degradation font is generated from outline character pattern data, thereby eliminating unevenness of line width and flurring of characters. SOLUTION: The gradation font in which unevenness of gradation is corrected is generated by providing this device with a contour line tracking means 21 for tracking outline characters pattern data developed in a specified size and obtaining a horizontal line or a vertical line, a pair obtaining means 22 for obtaining a horizontal line or a vertical line making a pair with a horizontal line or a vertical line obtained by the contour line tracking means 21, a movement quantity calculating means 23 for calculating distance between a pair of horizontal lines or vertical lines obtained by the pair obtaining means 22 and a specified position on the nearest dot, and a segment moving means 24 for moving a pair of a horizontal line or a vertical line obtained by the pair obtaining means 22 by distance calculated by the movement quantity calculating means 23. |
