Moisture sensor

The ingress of moisture or damp inside vehicle is detected by a sensor element, which closes a switch to short circuit a conductor loop and alters damping in an oscillator. The oscillator functions as a generator and a detector and alters damping, which is easily detected by an electronic detector. The moisture sensor has a preferably cylindrical sleeve (111) of paper, e.g. cigarette paper, which expands with presence of damp or moisture in its immediate vicinity, a moisture detector element and a conductor loop (12) and a switch to alter the damping in an oscillator.
