PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve at least one property, i.e., selected from among color strength, gloss, clarity, strike through, and nonprecipitability of a pigment by compounding it with at least one dendorimer in a specified amt. based on the wt. of the pigment. SOLUTION: This compsn. contains a pigment and at least one dendorimer in an amt. of 0.1-10 wt.% of the pigment. 'A dendorimer' is a symmetrically branched star polymer having many arms and contg. an initiating nucleus (e.g. nitrogen, a diamine, or a polyhydroxy compd.), and each of the arms comprises repeating units, the number of the repeating units being thought to exhibit the generation of the dendorimer. A suitable dendorimer is of an amide or ester type and can have terminal hydroxyl, carboxyl, ester, or amino groups. A suitable nucleus is a diamine (e.g. ethylenediamine) or pentaerythritol. An example of a suitable dendorimer is represented by formula I, II, or III (n is 2). An org. pigment (e.g. an azo pigment) is used as the pigment. |
