PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the occurrence of virtual images by arranging shield bodies consisting of an acoustic absorber at intervals on the wave transmitting/ receiving face of an oscillator array and forming an opening corresponding to the oscillator of the array at the shield bodies thereby reducing the influence of a side lobe. SOLUTION: The oscillator array 1 is obtained by linearly arraying many oscillators 2 by inserting a resin filler 3, and shield bodies 4 are arranged at prescribed intervals on the wave transmitting/receiving surface of the array 1. The bodies 4 interrupt or suppress the side lobe of the ultrasonic beam of each oscillator 2, consists of an acoustic absorber and is formed to be a plate body which is a size larger than the wave transmitting/receiving surface of the array 1. Then the opening 5 is formed corresponding to each oscillator 2 of the array 1 at the shield bodies 4. Each opening 5 of the bodies 4 is at nearly the front side of the corresponding oscillator 2 and its shape is a little larger than the wave transmitting/receiving surface of the oscillator 2. |
