PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To speed up input of addresses from an automatic cash transaction device and to enable a change of address procedure with the automatic cash transaction device by being provided with an address retrieval means for carrying out inference retrieval of the address even when inputted character information is imperfect. SOLUTION: A character recognition means 24 matches handwritten characters inputted in a touch panel 8 with character patterns in a recognition dictionary and executes character recognition. An address retrieval means 25 collates a transition probability table and appearance probability of a character table, which put a pointer of a candidate word in a word dictionary containing the transition probability between characters learned and prepared in advance to optimize the order of a candidate with regard to a candidate character recognized and a character transition, optimizes the order of candidates so that the probability of appearance as a character string becomes high, obtains a pointer to a word in the word dictionary to which the optimized character string corresponds, collates the word in the word dictionary to a candidate character and obtains the target word and its prior and post information. The address inferred and detected is displayed on an LCD 8. |
