Activated carbons derived from lignocellulosic nutshell waste, and for use in absorption of polar organic compounds, are prepared utilizing carbon dioxide or steam activation at 800 DEG C to 900 DEG C for 3 to 8 hours and subsequent oxidation with air at 260 DEG C to 400 DEG C for 3 to 6 hours. |
