The switch (1) comprises a support (2) for a bimetallic strip (5), a contact spring (6) and a mount for a desired value adjustment device (10). The bimetallic strip has its fixed end (13) on the support and its swinging end (14) coupled to the activating end (15) of the spring via a translate (16). The bimetallic strip forms at least one, preferably two, U-shaped bends (19) along its longitudinal axis (17) towards its inner side (18). The U-bends arch (20) preferably points towards the spring.
