PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a superconducting coil device, provided with a protective device which can be surely actuated when a superconducting coil used in a superconducting electromagnet device, etc., is quenched. SOLUTION: In a superconducting coil device, a thyristor pair 16 is constituted by connecting thyristor elements, which can control a circuit short-circuiting means that suppresses an induced voltage generated in a superconducting coil 1 when the coil 1 is quenched in antiparallel with each other, so that the thyristor pair 16 can actively control the circuit short-circuiting means, which short- circuits a circuit based on a quench signal detected by means of a quench- detecting means 4. Therefore, a superconducting coil device which hardly causes burning is obtained, because the occurrence of dielectric breakdown is suppressed by exactly actuating the circuit short-circuiting means, based on the quench signal when the superconducting coil 1 is quenched. |
