PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably maintain excellent contact electrostatic chargeability over a long period, by preventing the occurrence of a failure and unevenness in electrification, regardless of progress soiling of a contact electrifying member because of a long use, and stably maintain the output of images of high quality over the long period in an image forming device, in the contact electrifier and the image forming device using the same. SOLUTION: In the image forming device, an image is formed by an image forming process means including the contact electrifier for bringing the electrifying member 20, to which a voltage is applied, into contact with a body to be electrified 1 to electrify it, or an electrifying means for bringing the electrifying member 20, to which the voltage is applied, into contact with an image carrier 1 to electrify it. In such a case, the image forming device is provided with means 24-26 for detecting the value of a current flowing in the contact electrifying member 20 and means 26-28 and S1 for changing the value of the voltage applied to the contact electrifying member 20, in accordance with the detection signal. |
