<p>Tetrakis-azo dyes (IA) of formula (A) with specified substituents are new. In (I), X = A1; Y = A2; A1, A2 = groups of formula (B-1), (B-2) or (B-3); n, m = 0 or 1; R1 = optionally substituted phenyl or naphthyl or a -CO-R group; R = optionally substituted 1-6 carbon (C) alkyl, 1-6 C alkoxy, 5-7 C cycloalkyl, phenyl, phenoxy or naphthyl. In (IA), n + m = 1 if A1 = A2 = a (B-2) group; (IA) exclude compounds in which A1 = A2 = 2-, 3- or 4-amino-8-hydroxy-6-sulphonaphth-7-yl or 1-amino-8-hydroxy-3,6-disulphonaphth-7-yl. Also claimed are mixtures of tetrakis-azo dyes (I) of formula (A; X = A1; Y = A2) and dye(s) (II) of formula (A; X = Y = A1) and/or (III) of formula (A; X = Y = A2); in which A1, A2 = residues of coupling components of the benzene, naphthalene or heterocyclic series.</p> |
