<p>A spring loaded angle indicator for use in boreholes, and having, an elongated casing (10), having a diameter to fit down a desired borehole, a linear variable displacement transducer (30) located along the central axis of the casing, and having an operating rod (32) with a free end, bearings (42, 52) mounting the rod, remote from the transducer (30), the rod extending slidably through the bearings and, a weight (66) mounted on the rod (32), the weight being movable to cause the rod to slide within the casing (10), thereby moving axially relative to the transducer (30), and springs biasing the weight to adopt a reference position, the springs operating in opposition to one another so as to permit the weight to slide in either direction.</p> |
