The upper section (12) of the pillar (1) is fastened by a screwed collar (13) to the buried length (11) of the pillar. The junction is set into an aperture (10 in the centre of a paving slab (9). Welded to the upper end of the pillar are two brackets (6). Passing through apertures (7) in the brackets are two angled rods (3). The upper ends of the rods carry operating knobs (4) while the lower ends have eyelet holes (5). The eyelets are used to padlock securing chains to the parked bicycles.
