<p>A polymerisation catalyst for vinyl aromatic monomers comprises: (a) an eta 5-cyclopentadienyl complex of titanium; and (b) an organo-oxygenated compound of aluminium in contact with each other such that the product contains an effective amount of carboxylate(s) of formula (I): R-COO-G (I) R = a 1-30C organic group; and G = H, 1-20 C aliphatic or aromatic hydrocarbon or a metal atom, optionally substituted. Also claimed is a process for preparing a mainly syndiotactic polymer of vinyl aromatic compound(s) comprising polymerising the monomer(s) at 0-120[deg]C using the above catalyst.</p> |
