PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve vibration resistance by pressing a plunger against the inner peripheral surface of a sleeve and holding the plunger thereon in a state that at least a starter is in a static state. SOLUTION: An electromagnetic switch attracts a plunger 11 by a magnetic force generated by a coil 9 and a pinion moving body fitted in an output shaft through a lever 6 through movement of the plunger 11 is pushed forward. The plunger 11 is provided with a joint part 21 and the joint part 21 is provided with an engaging recessed part 21a with which the upper end part 6a of the lever 6 is engaged. The engaging recessed part 21a is provided with a slope 21b formed on a contact surface with which one side surface of a lever upper end part 6a makes contact. The slope 21b is constituted such that the component of force, paralleling the slope 21b, of the energizing force of a return spring 12 to energize the plunger 11 is exerted as a force to press the plunger 11 against the inner peripheral surface of a sleeve 10. |
