<p>Method of purifying a current of H2 contg. CO, CO2 and sulphurous gases comprises extn. with liq. acetonitrile in absorber(s). The extn is conducted at -40 to +50 degrees (-30 to +20) degrees C and 10-120(30-90) atm. pressure. The acetonitrile is regenerated and recycled. For hydrogen to be used in the petroleum, petrodieniscal or chemical industries esp. in catalytic reactors, or for any other industrial uses the purificn. may be used whatever the source of H2. e.g. conversion, in partial oxidation of hydrocarbons, reforming etc. The acetonitrile has a higher solvency for the impurities than prior art solvents.</p> |
