A handle assembly for actuating an automobile seat control lever 52 comprises: an eccentric element 16; and a bearing pin 34 having a portion 38 for threadedly engaging a bore 22 in the element. Initially (Fig.2), the assembly is provided with teeth 28 on the element engaging teeth (30, Fig.5) on a lever 10, with the head 40 of the pin non-rotatably located in aperture 48 in a strap member 18, and with cams 44 on the head against the outer side of the strap member. When assembled on an automobile, the head is pushed through the aperture to disengage the teeth, and the pin and element 16 are rotated by a tool (not shown) inserted in aperture 46 until the element engages the control lever (this engagement eliminates "a dead stroke" between the handle assembly and the seat control lever). Further rotation of the pin (relative to the element) will result in the teeth being reengaged. |
