An improved paper pallet (100) includes a generally planar interior construction (102) formed of a cellular paper product and having upper and lower surfaces and transverse sides extending therebetween; and an outer skin (112, 114) formed of a paper product and wrapped around the interior construction (102) so as to define upper and lower planar portions having similar planar dimensions to the upper and lower surfaces of the interior construction and being arranged in touching contact therewith, wherein the outer skin (112, 114) also has transverse portions connecting the upper and lower portions together such that the outer skin has a rectangular cross section.
