A skip includes a hollow body. A discharge opening leads from the body at a low level. A door is mounted on the body for displacement between a closed position in which it closes the discharge opening and an open position. A discharge chute is mounted on the body such that it is inclined downwardly from the discharge opening. The chute is mounted for displacement relative to the body between a rest position and a displaced position. Preferably, displacement of the chute between its rest and displaced positions is effected simultaneously with displacement of the door between its closed and open positions.
