PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to clean and sterilize contact lenses without adverse effects on the contact lenses by bringing the lenses into contact with a process solution containing iodine, ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid or its soluble salt, and a surface-active agent in specific concentrations respectively. SOLUTION: A process solution is used in a cleaning-sterilizing method for contact lenses, which solution containing 0.01-200ppm (preferably 0.1-50ppm) of iodine, 0.0001-1.0 (preferably 0.001-0.5, more preferably 0.001-0.1)% by weight/ volume of ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid or its soluble salt, and 0.01-1.0 (preferably 0.05-0.8, more preferably 0.1-0.5)% by weight/volume of nonionic surface-active agent. As the ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid or its soluble salt may be named; ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid disodium salt, ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid trisodium salt, and ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid tetrasodium salt. |
