<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To minimize interruption due to a hand-over process in telecommunication system that employs a satellite for its base. SOLUTION: A mobile station 14 and a base station 16 are controlled and scheduled hand-over is executed between two communication channels. When the base station 16 decides a time when hand-over is required, the base station 16 sends a command (node #4) including the scheduled hand-over time. The command is sent to a mobile station via a 1st channel. Upon the receipt of the command, the mobile station conducts required steps to set up a 2nd communication link via a 2nd channel before the scheduled hand-over time. At the scheduled hand-over time (node #21), the mobile station and the base station set up the 2nd communication link through the 2nd channel. In order to set up the 2nd channel, the mobile station calculates the frequency of the 2nd channel, the timing offset and the power level (node #11).</p> |
