PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device with high visibleness even for the circumference of an image. SOLUTION: A lamp (light source) 1, a light conductor 2, an LCD and a combiner (front glass) are equipped in a head-up display device for vehicle use. The LCD has an element (TFT) for every pixel at the intersection of X, Y matrix, and a display image is created by inputting an electric signal from a driver to the element (TFT). Light emitted from the lamp goes into the light conductor 2 and is discharged to the direction of the LCD passing through the light conductor 2 and changing its optical path by a reflector 6 of the light conductor 2. The light passing through the LCD forms by the combiner (front glass) a display image in front of the combiner against an occupant. When the light from the lamp 1 is directed toward the LCD by the reflector surfaced 6 of the light conductor 2, a virtual multi-point light source which is an aggregation of virtual point light sources irradiating the whole surface of the LCD with its light by each point light source using the light from the lamp 1, is created behind the LCD. |
