Door lock

A latch (3) and lock (4) for a door are withdrawn simultaneously by the lever (7) attached to the shaft (2). This causes a thrust rod (8) attached to the lock to move against the force of a spring (5). A ratchet (10 to 12) ensures that the rod and the lock are held in the furthest withdrawn position. When the door is closed, the ratchet is released by a position sensor (6) and the spring engages the lock independently of key operation. An electromagnet is also provided.
