<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the power consumption of the integrated circuit by turning off the circuit when it does not operate by reloading register contents at power- OFF time when the power source is turned ON without any external support by software, etc. SOLUTION: The integrated circuit is equipped with a conventional circuit part including a register part 2 and an address decoder 1, a register contents storage part consisting of a counter 12, a decoder 13, and a nonvolatile storage element 11, and a power-ON reset part 14 which initializes the counters. When the power source is turned on, the contents stored in the storage part are sent to the register part 2. In normal operation, the register contents are not stored in the storage part, but stored when an OFF signal is supplied from outside. After the OFF signal is supplied, he power source is turned off. When the power source is turned on again, the register contents saved at the time of the supply of the OFF signal are sent to the register part 2 and the integrated circuit is put back to the state at the last power-OFF time.</p> |
