PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the safety of a passing body by providing a plurality of diagnostic means which diagnose failures of each section of a projector which projects light in a space in the vicinity of a door, a light receive device, and a controller and outputting detected signals continuously when it is diagnosed that any section of these devices causes a failure. SOLUTION: A failure of each section of a projector 14 which projects beams of light toward a space in the vicinity of a door or a floor surface, a light receive device 16 which receives reflected beams of light of these beams of light, and a CPU 24 is diagnosed. When it is diagnosed that any section of the projector 14, the light receive device 16, and the CPU 24 causes a failure, the CPU 24 outputs detected signals including failure information to a door controller 45 continuously in a start sensor which detects a passing body which approaches the door. Consequently, the door controller maintains the door in an open condition. This failure information is constituted in such a manner that the door controller 45 can recognize whether it is an instruction for change of sensor or an instruction for inspection and is displayed in an indicator, or the like. |
